Denali Fiduciary Management (Denali FM), an advisory firm specializing in Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) retirement plan governance, has announced a webcast “The Investment Landscape: Risk Management is Everything”. This training features renowned investment policy expert Rex Sinquefield on May, 5th 2005. Registration is available at http://www.fei.org/tc/ and is free to interested parties.
FEI, the leading professional association for Chief Financial Officers and other senior financial executives, will host the webcast, which that will focus on retirement plan management, the difference between defined benefit and defined contribution plans, and how fiduciaries can succeed in this increasingly unstable environment.
“Regarding retirement accounts, participants need to have the most cost effective investment options available that generate competitive returns. Unnecessary management expenses create risks that are entirely preventable,” said Sinquefield. “Responsible fiduciaries must realize the long term impact expenses can have on returns."
Sinquefield, a pioneer in the industry who successfully applied the findings of academic finance to money management and one of the inventors of index investing, established many of the first index funds at American National Bank of Chicago. He is also the recipient of two Graham & Dodd Awards including one for co-authoring"Stocks, Bonds, Bills and Inflation," an article that led to a significant database in the industry for historical prices.
“The Investment Landscape: Risk Management is Everything” webcast is the third of a six-part series that will be moderated by Denali FM’s CEO Wayne H. Miller and will feature renowned guest speakers from the legal, investment and regulatory fields. The Series is designed to complement and reinforce topics from FEI’s recently released video-based online ERISA fiduciary training course developed by Denali FM and available through FEI.org.
