Mr. Miller has 22 years of experience in the ERISA retirement plan and investment advisory fields. Wayne Miller got his undergraduate degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Oregon.
Prior to starting his career in financial services, Mr. Miller was a research pharmacologist at Smith, Kline & French Laboratories in Philadelphia.
At the age of 19, Wayne was elected as a student member of the New York Academy of Sciences, one of the youngest members ever elected.
He began his finance career in 1984 as a senior account executive, first in a regional pension administration firm and finally in the employee benefits division of a major international insurance brokerage firm.
He is an Accredited Investment & Fiduciary Auditor accredited by the Center for Fiduciary Studies at the University of Pittsburgh’s Katz Graduate School of Business. He is a frequent conference speaker and has addressed numerous national conferences for CFO Magazine, the Profit Sharing Council of America, the Institute for International Research, the Treasurer’s Clubs of San Francisco and Los Angeles, the Western Pension and Benefits Conference, the National Retirement Conference of Franklin Templeton Investments, the AFL-CIO Center for Working Capital, and both national membership and regional chapters of Financial Executives International (FEI).
He has been quoted in various publications including CFO, Institutional Investor, and Plan Sponsor magazines. As President of Independent Retirement Plan Services LLC Mr. Miller is the co-author of both the FACS Program, an ERISA fiduciary governance guidebook, and the online ERISA fiduciary governance training based on FACS distributed by FEI.
